A lazy day in town today. We take it easy. Kids get to watch television early in the morning. We bake pancakes for breakfast. Kick a ball on the field next door. Then we're off for a hike in a nature reserve where we find that we still have not seen everything. It is an adventurous hike as it goes through wetlands and many dangerous snakes live here. Of course we don't see any. Just birds, butterflies and bees. And many ants.
After a picnic we decide we will spend the rest of the day on one of Esperance's 16 beaches and we choose 11 Mile beach. No-one else is there today. We see 3 whales swimming in the distance. We build sand castles, run for our lives if big waves crash on the beach and jump from steep dunes.
Just peace and quiet and quality time.
Very very nice.
Starting the day with pancakes.
Vegetation at Monjingup Lake. Very mysterious atmosphere.
Plants have adapted to extreme weather conditions in many different ways.
Little funghi on the path.
Playing on 11 Mile Beach.
Port of Esperance end of the afternoon.
